It's 1901, Teddy
Roosevelt, hero of the Rough Riders, is the extremely popular Vice President under
President McKinley. (When President McKinley was assassinated in Buffalo,NY in Sept.
1901, Roosevelt became President.)
One of Roosevelt's favorite expressions was "Bully!"- meaning at the time-
"a fine chap" or "something great!". Here the illustrator visualized
a bullfrog from the word bully...added Roosevelt's trademark eyeglasses....& ended up
with this label!
